Thirsty Thursday -- Drinks for the Valentine's Weekend

Next Tuesday is Valentine's Day, which means, given kids and schedules, you should be celebrating this weekend if you have a love in your life. It's no surprise that alcohol is an aphrodisiac, as it lowers anxiety, releases our inhibitions and increases our libido.  If you're opting for a "staying in" celebration, we're providing four interesting cocktail options from the website RomanceStuck.com. Visit their site for more recipes, as some had names we were too demure to mention.



American Sweetheart
Ingredients:
1.0 oz. Bourbon
1.0 Sour mix
1.0 oz. Southern Comfort
1.0 dash dry Vermouth
Directions: Mix, shake with ice, and serve in a glass on the rocks.

Arctic Kiss
Ingredients:
3.0 oz Champagne
2.0 oz Vodka
Directions: Chill vodka over ice if it's not in your freezer. Pour into a chilled champagne flute and fill with champagne.


Between the Sheets
Ingredients:
1.0 oz. Cognac or Brandy
1.0 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec
1.0 oz. Light Rum
1.0 oz. Lemon or Lime Juice
Directions: Combine ingredients in a shaker with cracked ice. Shake well and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.


Foreplay
Ingredients:
1 oz. Amaretto 1 oz. Southern Comfort Pineapple Juice Directions: Mix with pineapple juice and serve on the rocks.
