Thirsty Thursday -- Hot Toddy for What Ails You

It's that time of year...despite the unseasonably warm weather most of us have been having, many of us are being stricken by colds, coughs and sore throats.  The adult way to survive the esophageal plight? The Hot Toddy.

Typically, a hot toddy is a mixture of lemon, hot water, honey and whiskey. Being a bourbon gal myself, I prefer mine with the good stuff from the Bluegrass state -- Woodford Reserve (www.woodfordreserve.com) being my personal fave.  They even have a version of a toddy that isn't hot:

Bourbon Nectar
1½ oz. Woodford Reserve®
1 oz. Honey syrup (1 part honey, 1 part water)
½ oz. Fresh lemon juice
Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Now, I've heard rumors from a friend that there is now honey-infused bourbon out in the marketplace, but who would do that to good bourbon?
Sip up -- you'll feel better soon.
